Engineered Solid Wood Installation Guide

Engineered Wood Flooring

The most common way to install an engineered wood floor is as a floating floor. This is when then flooring is either glued together as in tongue and grooved flooring or if it has a click system then no glue is needed and you just click the flooring together. This is by far the easiest way and ideal for DIY.

Engineered Wood Flooring can also be fully glued to the sub floor

Solid Wood Flooring

Solid wood flooring is a completely different proposition when it comes to installing it. There are two ways in which you can install these types of floors. You can either secret nail the flooring onto a wooden sub floor or onto battens which sit over a concrete floor. Or you can fully glue the solid wood flooring on to either a concrete or plywood base. Solid wood flooring should always be fitted by a professional tradesman

One exception to these types of installations is to choose one of the Junckers solid wood floors which uses a metal clip system and is fitted as a floating floor.
